How LumberCounter handles your data

This page explains what data LumberCounter may process, why it is used, and what controls you have. LumberCounter is currently pre-release and planned for iOS.

Last updated: April 13, 2026

1. Camera images and counting

LumberCounter analyzes images so it can detect and count logs and lumber ends. All image analysis and counting logic runs locally on your device.

Your images, analysis process, and counting results are not uploaded to cloud servers by LumberCounter.

2. Local records and saved results

Count results, project notes, and app preferences are intended to stay on your device unless you explicitly export, share, or back them up using your own tools.

If you save images to Photos, those copies are managed by Apple permissions and storage behavior on your device and Apple account.

3. Diagnostics and analytics

To improve reliability and fix defects, we may upload limited anonymous technical diagnostics such as crash and exception reports.

These diagnostics are not linked to your identity and are not intended to include your images, analysis output, or detailed counting records.

4. Third-party services

LumberCounter may rely on third-party services such as Apple for distribution, device permissions, and billing when paid features are launched.

If anonymous crash diagnostics are used, those providers process only technical error data for product improvement. Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

5. Data retention and security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for data related to the service. Any transmitted diagnostic data is intended to use encrypted transport.

Local data on your device is also subject to your iOS security settings, device passcode, backup settings, and Apple account protections.

6. Your controls

You can manage camera and photo permissions directly in iOS Settings at any time.

You can remove local app data by clearing history within the app where available, or by uninstalling the app from your device.

7. Policy changes

We may revise this policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
